Welcome to our new home! This is a “come-and-go” event where you can tour the new Louisburg studio, meet a new addition to the dance family (Miss Meredith Grace Dodd), make some “original art” for the new studio walls, learn more about ballet, sign up or ask about classes for the fall, and enjoy an ice pop! I will also have an area where you can bring in your “gently used” dancewear that doesn’t fit anymore and maybe find some for yourself! Anyone is welcome, students and families of the past, present, and future, from Louisburg OR Paola! Can’t wait for you all to see it!

You are all very special to me, and THE REASON that I continue to work to improve the studio, the teaching staff, and our recitals. I want my dance family to be the first to know some VERY exciting news about The Dance Studio BEFORE anyone else so you can help me spread the word!
The Dance Studio – Louisburg location will have a new address next season!!!
401 South Metcalf Rd., Louisburg
(half of the old Dollar General building)
This will allow us to have more studio space, be on ground floor, have a storefront, have an EVEN floor, AND (my favorite part) build real sprung dance floors! Walls are going up and paint is going on — I can’t wait to see the finished product. We plan to move into the new space in August.
ALSO, The Dance Studio will have a new name next season!!!
MIAMI COUNTY DANCE MOVEMENT (MCDM)
New Name – Same Heart!
I’ve been talking with Raquel Sterba, the previous owner, about how much the studio has grown and how we are developing a unique identity. She was excited to learn about our new studio space and our new name that highlights our location – Miami County – and our strong dancers who perform in many styles – Dance Movement! Just know that, because of rising costume prices, I plan to only raise the price of costumes by $5 next season. OTHER THAN THAT . . . and the news above of course. Nothing else will be changing! And to clarify, the Paola location will have the same address.
We’ll begin the name transition with our Summer Enrollment and will make the official name change announcement at our recital – Saturday, June 6th.

I hope everyone had a great break and got to enjoy this weather!
Starting tomorrow (3/23) we head back to class and have the LAST CLASS WATCH WEEK of the season!
**I know that there’s one more posted on the calendar, BUT I want to keep at least a little surprise for Recital!! That one (4/20-4/24) will be canceled, my mistake.
ATTENDANCE: 11 WEEKS TILL RECITAL!!
All classes are MANDITORY and very important from here on out! Please let me know if there will be an absence and I will try and find a way for that student to have a make up so they don’t miss too much Recital practice. It is so important to me that every student feels as comfortable as possible when Recital comes. Please let me know if you feel the need for any extra help.
SUMMER SESSION:
I plan to set the summer class schedule in the next 2 weeks, let me know if you have any last minute requests! We have a lot of fun scheduled already this summer! Enrollment for summer will start within the first couple weeks of April.
RECITAL DETAILS:
Final Recital details will also be sent out in the next couple weeks. This will include details about hair, tights, shoes, make-up, times, Recital Photos, Dress Rehearsal, etc. Please let me know if you have any other questions after everything is sent out.
