Masters of MCDM – Performer’s Intensive 19

Presenting the Masters of MCDM . . . a NEW “tradition unlike any other” (in your best Golf Masters voice)!

This summer our fourth annual Performer’s Intensive will be structured as a Master Class Series! I am incredibly grateful to have an inspiring and talented teaching staff with specific styles that they’ve “mastered”. What better way to celebrate their individuality!

Dancers can take individual classes or the full series. All four classes are required to be eligible for Movement Company Auditions on Friday, August 2^nd @ 6 pm.

PAOLA LOCATION 18 W. Peoria St.

Ballet Master Workshop April 1st 2017!

I am very excited to announce our Ballet Master Workshop with Laura Donnelly with be Saturday, April 1st!

10am-11:30am
MCDM Louisburg Studio B
$20 workshop fee
Intermediate/Advanced level
Beginners are encouraged to come watch!
Space will be limited, so please do not hesitate to reserve your dancer’s spot. This workshop is open to the public.

BIOGRAPHY:
Laura Donnelly is a choreographer, teacher, and dancer who writes and creates. She directs Dancing with Ease presenting workshops for teachers and students incorporating the Alexander Technique into living, teaching, studying, and performing in dance, music, and theatre.
In college Donnelly studied with Roni Mahler, a former prima ballerina with American Ballet Theatre. After college Donnelly moved to New York City where she was a soloist with the Court Dance Company of New York and performed with Clive Thompson (former soloist with Alvin Ailey) and Igal Perry (founder of Peridance). She also performed with Phyllis Lamhut former soloist with Alwin Nikolai.
Donnelly specializes in all levels of ballet and pointe technique, as well as partnering, modern and contemporary dance. Her teaching philosophy incorporates the joy of dance with clean line and sound physical and anatomical methods.
Donnelly toured nationally with the Court Dance Company of New York and presented her choreography internationally with composer Philip Corner. Her performance experience encompasses Contemporary, Modern, Ballet, Renaissance and Baroque Dance.
Her article Dance Technique – a Basis for Lifelong Learning appeared in the Chinese/English magazine All in One. Donnelly’s essay Meditation in the Dance Studio is published in Teaching with Joy: Educational Practices for the Twenty-First Century, Rowman & Littlefield Publishers.

MCDM Logo Apparel order – Due November 16th

Dance Parents,

Below is attachment for the 2016 MCDM logo Apparel order form. The physical form is being handed out in class. Also attached are pictures of each item except for the leggings. All leggings will have “Miami County Dance Movement” in turquoise down the side of one leg. The longer leggings are my personal favorite, great fit.

These are great to have for Christmas gifts and the kids always feel very special wearing them. This is a one time order and all orders will be due by November 16th. Last order can be taken on November 18th, but no more will be submitted after that. This has to be strict order date this year so we can make sure they get handed out in time for Holidays. Design for Sports gets VERY busy during that time.

There are some new items and some of the favorites from last season! I also have tights ($8) available to purchase in the studio at all times.

*These items are NOT required to purchase.
*Also, to not be confused with Recital Costume orders or fees.
*You may submit order with payment to Miss Lacy or Design for Sports in Paola.
*The turquoise jacket is also for any student involved with competition, along with any dancer that would like it.

MASTER HIP HOP CLASS WITH JAMES “SUGEASY” SINGLETON – SATURDAY, JULY 9TH @ LOUISBURG LOCATION $20 each (flier attached)

Mr. “Sug” is a favorite of our Master teachers. Giving every level, every style, and every age of dancer the foundations of hip hop movement. Complete with technique and history. Join us for this energetic, non-stop fun class on Saturday, July 9th! (2 LEVELS)
